Soot buildup or smoking
If smoke comes back into the room or you see heavy black buildup, the flue is clogging and needs sweeping before fire season.
Water leaks after a storm
South Florida storms expose every weak crown, cap, and seam. I've fixed hundreds of chimney leaks after hurricane seasons since 1996.
Lint clogs in the dryer vent
If your dryer runs hot, takes two cycles, or trips a sensor, the vent is clogged. Don't wait — lint buildup is a real fire risk.
Birds nesting in the chimney
I get a lot of calls about birds in the chimney every spring. I remove the nests humanely and install caps so it doesn't repeat.
